The company serves various markets requiring on-device and real-time AI, including smartwatches and fitness trackers, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) glasses, smart rings, digital health monitors, security systems and access control, livestock tracking, crop monitoring, and factory automation. It offers its products through internal direct sales force, and through a network of distributors and sales representatives. The company was formerly known as Cubiq Microchip, Inc. and changed its name to Ambiq Micro, Inc. in October 2012. The company was incorporated in 2010 and is based in Austin, Texas.
